Residents of Dainfern Lifestyle Estate got into the swing of things with a full day’s programme of tennis on their three courts and a game or two of beach tennis on their volleyball court.Club chairperson, Merryl Flynn said there had been tennis coaches and informal events at the estate previously, but the official launch of the club on 29 September had ushered in a new era of tennis in Dainfern.“We are launching internal leagues, ladders and club championships and next year we will join Tennis South Africa’s Central Gauteng League to play competitively,” she added.“We have coaching under the Tennis Inc company that will provide private and group coaching to young and old, beginners and advanced.”Flynn said the club was currently only catering to residents of the estate, and the support from its residents had been exceptional.Bonny Davidson reaches for a high ball during a beach tennis game. The multi-award winning production is based on the beloved children’s book by Roald Dahl and tells the story of Matilda (played jointly by Lilla Fleischmann, Kitty Harris and Morgan Santo), a young girl who uses her amazing mind to get the better of her dreadful parents, the Wormwoods (Stephen Jubber and Claire Taylor), and heartless school principal, Miss Trunchbull (Ryan de Villers).Matilda gets a tough start in life when she is born into the Wormwood family. Supreme Fight League tournament hosts 4th event - Fourways Review

Fans and supporters will witness explosive fights on a fight-card weighted with remarkably talented and diverse fighters.SFL spokesperson Maka Maguga said, “2018 sees us, at the Supreme Fight League, host five incredible events that will pair South African greats against each other. This particular event will be thrilling and treat our local kickboxing fans to a total of 13 fights, with an incredible line-up leading up to our main fight.”Amateur, super-amateur and professional fights will fill the line-up, each with their own particular rules and safety requirements. Fights will take place across the weight spectrum with a combination of speed and strength to guarantee riveting performances from beginning to end.The most anticipated fight sees South African Kickboxing Association (SAKA) titleholder Adrian ‘Sparks’ van Wyk come up against Rami ‘Pitbull’ Mungul. Van Wyk, who comes from Paarl, started his career in 2010 and is well-known for his tenacious boxing ability and powerful accuracy. Mungul is a martial arts and Pilates instructor from Randburg who has been doing kickboxing since 2004. He made his professional debut at SFL 2 after having a shatteringnine-fight winning streak in his amateur career. He had a tough fight in his professional debut, walking away with a split decision victory against the experienced and highly skilled SAKA cruiserweight titleholder.The two fighters, who are excited to meet in the ring, have earned the opportunity to fight for the SAKA cruiser light heavyweight title.“We are constantly striving to provide our local kickboxers with a platform to work towards the world stage. It’s time to move the league forward and upwards, showcase our incredible talent, provide sponsors with amazing opportunities and our audience with awesome entertainment.
